How the Extension Works

2. Temporary Data Processing

  • Tweet content is temporarily stored in local browser storage for a few seconds during import
  • The data is used solely to transfer the tweet content to the Fake Tweet Generator website
  • All temporary data is automatically cleared as soon as the import completes

3. Data Transfer

  • The Extension opens a new tab to xaicreator.com (Fake Tweet Generator)
  • Tweet content is transferred within your browser using Chrome’s built-in messaging system
  • No data is sent to external servers or third parties during this process
  • The entire transfer occurs locally within your browser

Permissions Explanation

Storage Permission

  • Purpose: Temporarily cache tweet data during the import process
  • Data Stored: Tweet text, image URLs, and user display names (public information only)
  • Duration: Data is cleared within seconds after import
  • Scope: Stored locally in your browser only, never synced to cloud services

Tabs Permission

  • Purpose: Open a new browser tab to the Fake Tweet Generator website
  • Data Accessed: None — the permission is only used to create tabs
  • No tracking: We do not monitor your open tabs or browsing activity

Scripting Permission

  • Purpose: Inject the “Fake” button into Twitter/X pages and read tweet content
  • Data Accessed: Only the publicly visible tweet information you choose to import
  • Limitations: Works solely on Twitter/X pages and only after your interaction

Host Permissions

  • https://twitter.com/* and https://x.com/* — required to display the import button and read tweet data
  • https://pbs.twimg.com/* — required to access public tweet images hosted on Twitter’s CDN
  • https://xaicreator.com/* — destination site for transferring tweet content

Third-Party Services

Twitter/X (twitter.com, x.com)

We read publicly available tweet information. We do not access private tweets, direct messages, or any non-public data. All accessed data is already visible to you and other Twitter/X users.

Fake Tweet Generator (xaicreator.com)

Tweet data is transferred to this website when you import a tweet. This is the destination tool for creating fake tweet mockups. Please review xaicreator.com’s privacy policy for details on their handling of data.

Twitter CDN (pbs.twimg.com)

Used to fetch publicly available tweet images when a tweet includes media.

We have no control over the privacy practices of these third-party services. Please review their privacy policies independently.

Data Security

  • All processing happens locally in your browser
  • No user data is transmitted to our servers (we don’t operate any servers)
  • The Extension does not include analytics, tracking, or telemetry
  • No cookies are used
  • The Chrome Web Store package can be inspected to audit the source code

User Control

  • The Extension works only when you click the “Fake” button
  • No automatic or background data collection occurs
  • You can uninstall the Extension at any time via Chrome settings
  • No account or login is required

Children’s Privacy

The Extension does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age or any personal information from users regardless of age.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will update the Chrome Web Store listing, this policy, and notify users via the extension update mechanism when necessary.

Data Retention

We do not retain any user data. Temporary tweet data cached during import is stored locally for a few seconds, cleared immediately after import, never transmitted externally, and not synchronized across devices.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, delete, export, or object to. You can uninstall the Extension at any time, clear your browser storage, and review the source code.

International Users

The Extension operates entirely within your browser and does not transfer data internationally. When you import a tweet to xaicreator.com, data may be transferred to servers hosting that website. Refer to xaicreator.com’s privacy policy for information on international data transfers.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information or collect personal information as defined by CCPA. No opt-out mechanism is required because no data collection occurs.

European Union Users (GDPR)

We do not process personal data as defined by GDPR. No data controller or processor relationship exists. No consent mechanism is required because there is no data collection. The Extension runs entirely in your browser.
